THUSHARAGIRI WATERFALLS amazing spot

Thusharagiri Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls..... and a great tourist destination.

How to reach.....Thusharagiri is around 45-50KM away from Calicut (Kozhikode) city. The nearest town Kodencherry is around 11KM away from Thusharagiri. We have to purchase all necessary things for trekking from here.

The best roar of the waterfalls can be enjoyed from September to November. The waterfall with its gentle spray is sure to soothe every eye. The cascading waters of the waterfall slides past with surfy smiles. Two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, 'Thusharagiri'. , The highest waterfall is the Thenpara (honey hill) that falls from an altitude of 75 metres. Situated at Kodencherry in Kozhikode

The place offers challenging trekking and rock-climbing through river path and numerous waterfalls. The main attraction of the Thusharagiri is also Trekking. Thusharagiri offers endless scope for trekking, rock climbing and wild life sanctuary visits. The plantation destination that abounds in rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices, is also a trekker's delight. Trekkers start early morning from the second waterfall on the hills and climb up through the pristine dense evergreen forests teeming with exotic birds and animals to reach Vythiri in Wayanad district by evening. There is a dam located around 45km from Calicut.

There are actually 5 waterfalls but we can cover only 3 of them in one day, otherwise we need to stay in forest with wild animals in tent. It is very dangerous and risky. Unexpected waterfalls may occur at any time through any path of the forest. If it occur we can't escape from it. We should purchase food for one day in advance from Kodancheri (11KM from Thusharagiri) before start the trekking.

  1. Originating from Chalippuzha River which diverges into 3 waterfalls, Thusharagiri Waterfalls in Calicut are certainly a pleasure to visit. Also, stay at hotels in Calicut and witness the serene beauty of Kerala, the state facing the Arabian Sea.
